Zack is a senior Westie, approximately twelve years old. He was picked up as a stray by the county shelter. He is blind and deaf but has no skin or health problems. The shelter knew Zack would not be easy to adopt, so they called Elizabeth of Lone Star Westie Rescue.
Merlin was purchased as a young pup from a breeder out West. The family that bought him meant well, but with no prior Scottie or terrier experience, they found the sweet but playful pup to be a bit too much for the busy family.
Valentina, at barely one-year-old, is still very puppy-ish. She is super active, loves toys, and is a very busy girl. Her foster mom says she jumps on the sofa and flies to nearby chairs or tables.
Valentina was purchased by a nice family from a pet shop, but they had no Scottie experience. In addition, the parents were very busy between working full time, their children’s school, and after school activities. Consequently, Valentina spent a lot of time alone in her crate.
Found on the streets and heavily infected with fleas, Crosby was taken to the local shelter. He was not doing well in the noisy, busy shelter. Thinking he was a Cairn or part Cairn, the shelter workers called Col Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue.
Lindy was a double, yellow-headed, Panama parrot. He was given to my mother by her father around the time Lindbergh made his historic flight. So, of course, she named him Lindy. Lindy was well established in the family before my arrival. However, since parrots live almost as long as humans, he was a teenager and still pretty active when I was born.
Anna Mae, a sweet little Cairn mix, was found on the streets in central California and taken to a shelter. At about one year old, the shelter knew this little sweetie deserved a good life in the perfect home, so they called Col Potter Cairn Rescue.
Tito, a senior dog struggling on the mean streets, collapsed on a driveway. Luckily for this little boy, a good Samaritan saw him, picked him up, and took him to the Austin, Texas, shelter. He weighs about eleven and a half pounds and is judged to be about fourteen years old.
Roland was picked up on the street in the Phoenix area. Even though he isn’t a Cairn, the shelter called Col. Potter Cairn Rescue.
Trusty, a little six-month-old black Scottie, came into Scottie Rescue of Greater NY/NJ when he proved to be too rambunctious for his elderly owner and because of problems from the Condo Association where she lived.
Fraser, a little Scottie pup, had a rough start in life. Born in Pennsylvania Amish country, he was the only puppy to survive in his litter, and he might not have continued to survive had it not been for the kindness of a stranger.
