The Social Science Department at Reedley High School is filled with outstanding teachers who motivate their students, and work hard to lead them onto the path of success. One teacher in particular, Anthony Fernandez, is well-known among students and staff for his humor and easygoing personality, and as a great friend.

Oakland Raider’s quarterback and Fresno State alum, Derek Carr, returned back home for his Altar Conference, an event that the official website states “is a weekend of dynamic worship and powerful teaching, provoking believers of all backgrounds into a lifestyle of radical pursuit and relentless devotion to Christ.”

February 23 at the Mineral King Bowl in Visalia, all was at stake for the Reedley High School Boys’ soccer team. Against the Redwood High Rangers, the intensity increased after every move. Sophomore defender Rene Prieto made his mark by scoring two goals for the team, and with a phenomenal block from the RHS boys’ goalkeeper Marco Leyva, they won 5-4 with tears of joy streaming down their faces.

There’s not a lot to say, beyond the obvious, about Reedley College’s 58-7 loss to Fresno City College this past Saturday night at Radcliffe Stadium.
The Tigers were dominated in every aspect of the game; from defense and offense, to placekicking and punting. The numbers are ugly, so there’s no need to repeat them. The Tigers lost to a superior opponent.
