Never Met a Stranger

Anna Mae, a sweet little Cairn mix, was found on the streets in central California and taken to a shelter. At about one year old, the shelter knew this little sweetie deserved a good life in the perfect home, so they called Col Potter Cairn Rescue.

When Ron, a relatively new foster dad for Col Potter, took in Anna Mae, he didn’t know what he was in for. Still very puppy-ish and only weighing in at about ten pounds, this little girl was a ball of energy. Whether zooming around the house or playing and running circles in the yard, Anna tried to draw into her craziness any other dog or person who happened to be nearby. Ron’s own Cairn, being a bit older, soon got tired of the constant activity and would retire to rest. Crosby, another rescue, also had trouble keeping up with Anna and would rather follow Ron around.

Anna Mae

Anna Mae, who was named for Tina Turner’s birth name, loves to play with toys. However, she gets easily bored with puzzle games – apparently, she finds them boring! She also enjoys jumping into the hammock in Ron’s yard.

Ron is guessing that Anna once had a home. She is house trained and walks well on a leash. She also sleeps through the night either in her crate or in a pen that Ron has set up in his kitchen. She loves greeting people and dogs on her walks, and she has never met a stranger, as she loves everybody. When Anna, gets tired of playing, this sweet girl enjoys cuddling and sitting with Ron.

Anna is currently interviewing for the perfect, forever family. She is in good health, has been fully vetted, and has no health problems. Anna likes children so a home with kids and another dog to play with, would work well for her. She would also like a fenced in yard where she can run her circles. An active family with someone home a big part of the day is Anna’s wish. Staying alone or in her crate, would not be ideal for this busy, sweet girl, and, of course, a backyard hammock would be just perfect.
