An MVP In The Game of Life

The Reedley College Football team’s post-season banquet was held on November 23rd. I wasn’t much looking forward to it, to be honest. I mean, what was there really to celebrate about a team with a 3-7 record, including a season-ending four-game losing streak? Shows you what I know. The banquet was one of the most uplifting and inspiring experiences of my 54 years on this earth, all because of one person: Jesse Lownsbury.

Just like at other high schools, fall is the busiest time of the year at Reedley High School, with football games, rallies, and band performances. And at all of these gathering, there is one thing you are sure to find -- school spirit! In fact, our Pirate pride is what gives so many students the motivation to be involved with school activities.

The young women don their matching long skirts and jackets, put on their bonnets, and thrust their cold hands into hand muffs for warmth. The young men dress in black pants, white tuxedo shirts, black capes and top hats. They wear festive colored shawls and vests respectively, bringing rays of sunshine to the dreary winter.

Reedley College Geek Squad to the Rescue

Oh no! Your computer is running so slow! But where can you take it? There’s a Geek Squad in Fresno, and another in Visalia, but they are too far away, so do you just live with the slow? Many people do. The fact is, many people are more put off by the miles than by the thought of being without their computer for a few days.
