Lamb of God & Killswitch Engage Bring the Metal to Fresno

This past year, ever since events have been taking place since the pandemic lockdown lifted, there hasn’t been too many options for the metalhead crowd in the Central Valley for live entertainment. Then lo and behold, on Tuesday, October 4, at Selland Arena, the prayers of local headbangers was answered when Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, along with Motionless in White and Fit For An Autopsy came to town and tore the stage up. This breed of metal is known for its dark themes and ear pulsing beats, so it was fitting that this show took place in the beginning of October to kickstart the Halloween season.

The Excursions assembled almost forty of them for their Return of the Son of One Hit Wonders Rogue show. A lot of things have returned since the lockdown has been lifted, and the one event people have been most looking forward to was The Big Fresno Fair. It’s been a local mainstay for 137 years and is the fourth largest in the state; the community marks on their calendar every October. When the pandemic happened, citizens were relegated to a free, drive-thru pickup of fair food out of desperation to keep the spirit of the fair going. It’s 2021, and the fair came back in full form. All the familiar activities, sights, and smells took place that it didn’t feel like a year had passed.
