It’s that time of year again, a time to look back at the books we reviewed here at KRL over the past year and share with you some of our favorites! We reviewed a LOT of books last year. Flop Dead Gorgeous By David Rosenfelt: Review/Giveaway/Interview

Andy Carpenter is an attorney and not nearly as retired as he’d like to be. Although he tries to avoid work, cases seem to find him. Take for instance, his most recent involving Hollywood actress Jenny Nichols. Andy doesn’t like to brag but does take the opportunity to mention as many times as possible, he and Jenny dated in high school. She’s in New York shooting a movie and letting on that she’s staying at a hotel there.

Holy Chow By David Rosenfelt: Review/Giveaway

Through no fault of his own, attorney Andy Carpenter has a new case. It’s not like he seeks them out but that they fall into his lap and usually involve dogs. This time it’s Lion, an older Chow who was adopted through the Tara Foundation, Andy’s rescue group. Andy gets a phone call from Lion’s adopter, Rachel, who asks, if anything happens to her, would he make sure Lion finds another home if her stepson, Tony, can’t take him? Of course, he agrees.

Everyone knows Andy Carpenter loves dogs, especially Tara, his Golden Retriever. And everyone knows, he walks them in the park for a bedtime break. This time he has company. His secretary, Edna, who never does any work, is getting married and has brought her fiancé around to meet Andy and Laurie. When it’s time to walk the dogs, the fiancé goes along, leaving Edna and Laurie at the house for girl talk.
