For the last several months, I have been hearing a lot of buzz about a new coffee shop in the Tower District in Fresno, so I decided to check it out! When I was in the Tower for the Rogue Festival last month, I stopped in at Hi-Top Coffee, not once but twice!
Collect Coffee Bar is my newest go-to place for a relaxing and productive moment of reflection and self-collection. Jamal Anabtawi sold Sara Jarrar a car and a conversation began which culminated in many conversations every day in a gathering place called Collect Coffee Bar.
A few months ago I was in Downtown Fresno for jury duty and found myself looking for somewhere to get some coffee. I noticed this cute little cafe very close to the court and decided to check it out. It was called Kids Café 2019. I looked around and noticed that this was more than just a cafe, so when I got home I set out to learn exactly what Kids Café 2019 was.
Sometimes, I eat alone. When I do so, my options are broader, brighter, and easier. But I do not always eat alone. When I eat with others, it is not necessary for my health that I eat. I have other ways of getting nutrition, but it is more pleasant and more of a celebration if I can order and savor something from the menu.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air as soon as the door to this friendly, family owned neighborhood coffee shop opens. Welcome to northeast Fresno’s hidden gem…Yellow Mug Coffee.
I am new to Caroline Fardig’s Java Jive Mystery series that began in 2015 with Death Before Decaf, so when I was given the opportunity to read book five, I immediately sat down with my own frothy Mocha and was thrilled right off! Caroline starts this adventure with “ex-boyfriend turned friend” and detective Ryder Hamilton inviting Juliet Langley to a gun and knife show…ex turned friend may seem like an oxymoron, but it is a very delightful dynamic.
Kenni Lowry continues to perform her sheriff duties in Cottonwood, Kentucky, despite the challenge she faces for her job in the upcoming election. Over the past year the town has been lucky to live with only minor lapses in law and order while Kenni has been in charge, but when her first murder occurred, that wasn’t the most shocking. Her Poppa, himself having passed away several years earlier, showed up to help with her investigation!
What happens when you take the best locally roasted coffee with a story and weave it into a local ice cream story? You add a dash of Jeff and Amelia Bennett of Ampsersand Ice Cream and a pinch of Bryan and Kimberley Feil of Lanna Coffee and you get a big cup of deliciousness. In other words, you get the grand reopening of The Revue in the Tower by way of Mia Cuppa.
It has been a buzz-word since mid-2015 and hasn’t stopped spreading through the world like wildfire. It’s “cold-brew coffee,” an inky black concoction that is infinitely more flavorful than ordinary iced coffee. In case you were wondering, iced and cold-brew coffee are not the same, because cold-brew coffee undergoes a different brewing process to make it taste exquisite.
