Former newshound Violet Rhinehammer moved away, so the Gazette hired the young reporter and face of Channel Two News, but his lack of understanding local customs along with an insulting headline has made him persona non grata, especially with Helen. She also attributes the recent drop in business to the article, and the newest winner of Miss Daniel Boone Day beauty contest, Alice Beakman, isn’t taking Helen’s calls. For thirty years, she’s coiffed the contest winner, just check her wall of photos to prove it, and now, the decades long tradition has ended. Unfortunately, there’s more that has ended. Alice doesn’t live [here] anymore, literally, and Helen, after her comments, revenge at the dunking tank, and gun found in her possession is suspect number one!
