Earlier this year KRL wrote about a young woman named Natalie Cruz from Reedley who started her own coffee company, Zolú Café. When I attended the Reedley Farmers Market at Reedley College a few weeks ago to meet Natalie in person and finally try her coffee for myself (which is awesome by the way), I also met another young Reedley woman who had started her own business—Grace Fedor. Her company is called Graceful Bakes and so far, I have tried three different types of cookies that she makes and they were all amazing! We took a moment recently to chat with Grace and learn more.

KRL: How and when did Graceful Bakes come to be?

Grace: I had been dreaming of owning my own baking business for quite a number of years. After I finally got my business license, I decided to post about it on social media and started my business in March of 2023.

KRL: How did you come up with the name?

Grace: I wanted to incorporate my name into the name of my business somehow and I thought this name fit best.

KRL: How long have you been baking and how did you first get into it?

Grace baking as a little girl

Grace: I’ve been baking ever since I was a little girl. My great grandma was the inspiration for all of this. She was always baking for church events and faith-based organizations. She really inspired me to do this as my job. I would bake with her, and also with my mom every Christmas. I always looked forward to doing that even as a little girl.

KRL: Do you have any special training?

Grace: No, I do not. I took culinary art classes in jr. high and high school for 3 years. I learned a lot from watching my mom and great grandma cook and bake as well. Over the last couple of years, I’ve learned a lot on my own with frosting sugar cookies too.

KRL: What do you love most about baking?

Grace: It is very therapeutic for me. I’m able to just turn on some music and focus on what I need to do. It never gets boring! It’s always been something I’ve been passionate about and I always look forward to doing it.

KRL: What kind of bakes goodies do you sell?

Grace: I sell a wide variety of cookies, scones, brownies, cupcakes, and lemon bars.

KRL: What is your favorite?

Grace: Probably Lemon bars or maple walnut scones. I love making the maple walnut scones because my kitchen always smells like maple afterwards, and it’s the best thing ever!

KRL: What is most popular?

Grace: My frosted sugar cookies, lemon bars and maple walnut scones.

KRL: Where can people purchase your products?

Grace: They can purchase them through a link on my Instagram —graceful__bakes, and my Facebook Graceful Bakes. They can also email me and I will let them know what options are available. I do orders for anyone who contacts me. Once they contact me, I will tell them what options I sell and they can order whatever they would like. I do deliveries and pick up as well. 🙂 My email is gracefedorbakes@gmail[dot]com or my is number (559) 270-3909.

KRL: Do you work out of your home?

Grace: Yes, I do! I have my cottage license, so I am licensed and official to sell baked goods.

KRL: What are your future goals?

Grace: I would love to own my own bakery someday outside of my home. It would be a dream come true to make it my own cafe/bakery. I would also love to start attending more farmers markets. I genuinely enjoy those, so I’m hoping I find more opportunities to get my business name out there.

KRL: Anything else you would like to share?

Grace: Any support that is given to my business is so appreciated!! This has been my dream for so long and I give all the glory to God- that my dream is becoming a reality and for the success that I have achieved thus far.

Remember you can also purchase Grace’s wonderful baked goods at the Reedley Farmers Market at Reedley College. The final event this summer is June 15.
