Gail Hutchinson began teaching at Reedley High School (RHS) in January of 1971 and has been there ever since, teaching four levels of both German and French. Though she and her husband, David, who also taught at RHS for 27 years, officially retired in 2009, Gail continues to teach some there this year.
You’ve all heard them. They play during first period, both on the field and on the street. They rehearse every Thursday night from 7-9. They go to every football game and most recently put in an appearance at the Dinuba Raisin Day Parade and the Reedley Fiesta Parade.
This is the first in a new column that will feature news on what's happening on the local high school campuses, and events coming up during the following month. Reedley and Kingsburg High School's are featured this month!
I’d like to introduce KRL readers to Local Live. In this new section, we will be highlighting some local theater, music, and literary events worth considering adding to your own event calendar. A new event will be highlighted each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., in plenty of time for you to include these events in your weekend plans should you so decide. Some will be events we have had the opportunity to experience ourselves; others will be ones we just wish we could attend.
Michelle Caban has been an Attendance Secretary at Reedley High School for five years, but has worked for the Kings Canyon Unified School District for eight. “I started as a sub for a teacher's aide, and an EL (English Language) Tech working with students in their language assessment. I've also worked as a clerk typist at the Adult School and as an assistant to the KC Kids program. I saw an opening for the high school, applied, and have been enjoying it ever since.”

RHS athletes not only show their dedication throughout the school year but during the summer. Students take their athletic abilities to the next level through participation in summer sports, proving they are serious about their sport by giving up time during their vacation to improve as a team.
