In honor of Pride this year we thought we would do something a little different—we reached out to several of the LGBTQ+ mystery authors that we have covered in the past and asked them to share their favorite LGBTQ+ mysteries.

Faye Kellerman has written twenty-four novels starring Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus Decker as of this year, and I must insist that I am revealing no surprise elements of the plot by letting readers in on the fact that they marry each other early into the series. Please. From their first encounter in The Ritual Bath (1986), onward through the most recent novel, The Bone Box (2017), it is clear that they are bashert (soul mates) bringing out the best in each other to become who each was meant to be.
This week we are part of the Wedding's To Die For blog tour with Maggie McDonnon & Marla Cooper. We have reviews and giveaways of their latest books-Bel of the Brawl: A Belfast McGrath Mystery and Dying on the Vine: Kelsey McKenna Destination Wedding Mysteries, along with interviews with both of them.
This is truly a delightful, entertaining series! Jamie Quinn may be a bit quirky with some low self-esteem issues, but one can easily identify with this young woman just trying to find her way. She loves her family, is loyal to friends and clients, misses her mom who recently died, and discovers she is more capable than she ever imagined…very realistic from her engaging first-person narrative. These books are quick reads, or listens in my case, but not short at all on enjoyment.
I love a good mystery. So do millions of other readers, and some of them don’t mind paying a premium price in order to acquire a particular volume. The 34th annual Florida Antiquarian Book Fair, held recently at St. Petersburg’s handsome 1920s vintage Coliseum Ballroom was, as usual, a veritable literary feast. A hundred dealers from around the country displayed their wares in well lighted, neatly piped and draped booths, and mysteries were prominently featured in many of them.
Perhaps your summer reading, like mine, involves pulling the venetian blinds mostly closed against the afternoon sun, getting the AC just right and then settling back with a good book, a glass of iced tea and finally settling in to read, going where your author takes you.
While all the snow was falling in the East and Midwest, and even in some Southern States, the one thing people on Facebook and DorothyL kept writing was, “It’s a good time to read,” proving there’s nothing like a good book to make you forget excessive snow, icy roads, and freezing temperatures.
