Hallmark has recently had a bit of a shake-up with several of its stars opting to sign contracts with a competing channel reportedly for varying reasons from money to creative differences to positions of power. This has Hallmark Movies & Mysteries looking in other directions to fulfill the need for more romance and holiday movies as well as cozy-style movies in their Signature Mysteries.

Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted By Murder

Aurora Teagarden is the twenty-something, red-headed cozy sleuth from Charlaine Harris popular novels, and in 2015, she became the iconic figure in eighteen telemovies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. By occupation, “Roe” is a librarian at the Lawrenceton Public Library, by passion, she is an active member of the Real Murders Club for true crime enthusiasts, and by complication, she’s the thorn in the side of law enforcement and the bane of many a killer. Aurora’s best friend Sally Allison, also a member of the club, is a reporter for the local newspaper and often Roe’s reluctant investigative sidekick.

Riddle Me Dead is the fifth and newest Crossword Mysteries entry on Hallmark's Movies and Mysteries channel starring Lacey Chabert as crossword puzzle editor Tess Harper and Brennan Elliott as New York Detective Logan O'Connor. Tess has been hired to read clues on a well know game show, but when the host is found murdered Tess joins Logan in investigating the crime.

The newest Hallmark Movies and Mysteries entry is the fifteenth in the Aurora Teagarden franchise. How to Con a Con stars Candace Cameron Bure as Aurora Teagarden, local librarian and president of the Real Murders Club. Her new fiancé Nick Miller (Niall Matter) is a college professor of psychology, an eager member of the Club, and very supportive of Aurora’s interest in all things murder. Marilu Henner, as Aurora's mother Aida, isn’t a murder fan and usually is very vocal against any extraneous investigation, but will participate under serious protest.

Cameron Candace Bure returns as librarian and true crime buff Aurora “Roe” Teagarden and Niall Matter, a Hallmark movie regular, portrays Professor Nick Miller, Aurora's new love interest.

Hallmark Movies and Mysteries newest mystery offering is Picture Perfect Mysteries: Newly Wed and Dead starring real-life husband and wife, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Jr.. Alexa starred in the three-part series of movies, Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over as Carmen Cortez. She also has numerous television and other movie credits and has released songs on the soundtrack of the Spy Kids movies.
