You’ve all heard them. They play during first period, both on the field and on the street. They rehearse every Thursday night from 7-9. They go to every football game and most recently put in an appearance at the Dinuba Raisin Day Parade and the Reedley Fiesta Parade.
This Sunday, October 10th, 2010, the Rotary Club of Kingsburg is sponsoring its 8th annual Taste of the Town event. It is being held at the Kingsburg Historical Park at 2321 Sierra Street behind the Kingsburg High School. The proceeds from the event sponsor community projects.
Kingsburg has made way for many young musicians in the past, and while many high school bands are typically started in high school one local band, This Side of Light, had their start long before that. What was a simple performance at the very end of a sixth grade talent show, segued into a band that has been writing and performing ever since that first moment on stage.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Loomis and the Lust and seeing them perform in Fresno. KRL will be keeping an eye on this young rock band as their success continues. Their music style is old rock with a bit of CA sunshine.

On July 6th, four boys from Santa Barbara played the Starline Club in Fresno. Lead vocalist, Will Loomis, said they made a special trip because their Fresno fans had been asking them to return since their first tour in October 2009.
