Once again another year has ended, and we take a look back at a few of the many books reviewed in KRL in 2017. All but one of our main reviewers share in this post their top 5 favorite books they reviewed in 2017 (well some of them may fudge on that a bit).
I always look forward to a new Coffeehouse Mystery by Cleo Coyle--not only does it promise great characters and a well plotted mystery, but I feel like I'm walking into my favorite coffeehouse, enjoying the heavenly smell of coffee brewing, and spending some time with old friends. Dead Cold Brew is the latest book in this series and was as worth the wait as a great cappuccino.
What better time to start a new series than the beginning of a new year? Here’s two that might interest you and plenty of old favorites.
First up is Color Me Dead by Teresa Trent, the first in the Henry Park mysteries.
Another year has come to a close and the main reviewers of KRL have been asked to pick their top 5 books of 2015, but some of us couldn’t keep it to 5! Let us know if you have a few we haven’t mentioned you’d like to share about in the comments, and while you are here check KRL’s book review section for many more great books that may not have made it on the list!
Dead to the Last Drop is the latest in Cleo Coyle's coffeehouse mystery series featuring Clare Cosi, who manages the Village Blend Coffee Shop in New York. This series is a favorite of mine--every time I "walk" into the Village Blend through one of these books I can almost smell the coffee!
Coffee, tea, beer, maple syrup, tamales, biscuits and cinnamon—we all have our own tastes when it comes to mysteries. Sample the goods with these fun offerings.
If you keep your stash of culinary mysteries close to the kitchen, if you dog-ear the pages and have Post It tabs marking your favorite recipes, if you’ve ever wondered, “Why can’t these all be in one place?” —well, ask no more, The Cozy Cookbook is here.

With Christmas just around the corner, what could be better than sitting down with a good book filled with holiday cheer and murder? Yes, these are Christmas mysteries. So many options, so little time was never a more true statement because the season will be gone before we know it. Until then, why not grab a nog or a coffee and sit down with one (or more) of these seven holiday tales? We may not have a Christmas wedding in this batch, but we’ve got all the trappings: sometimes old, sometimes new, plenty of food, and someone blue.
