The Con An Organized Crime Cozy Mystery By Jackie Layton: Review/Giveaway/Interview

by Tracy Condie

This is the second book in a new Jackie Layton series. I just want to start by saying how much I like that the series is titled “Organized Crime” as a play on the word organized, as in organizing spaces. Cozy sleuth’s usually have regular day jobs, like café owner, librarian, baker, and even pet-care specialist, but never an organizer.

Unbalanced By D.P. Lyle: Review/Giveaway

by Tracy Condie

This is my first Jake Longly thriller, but I did not feel lost and was able to keep the players straight. An enjoyable mystery, it reminds me a bit of the Travis McGee books I read when I was younger. Different from those older novels are the multiple points of view which give more insight into what the characters are thinking. This might be book seven of the series, but it does a very good job as a stand-alone.

The Murders in Great Diddling By Katarina Bivald: Review/Giveaway/Interview

by Tracy Condie

Some of the best mysteries, cozy or otherwise, take place in small English country towns. I would say that this novel has cozy undertones, but it also has some language that makes it a little edgier than your standard cozy. The main character, author Berit Gardner, needs a change of pace to get back her writing mojo, so she buys a cottage in Great Diddling.

Dead, White, and Blue by Annie McEwen: Review/Giveaway/Interview

by Tracy Condie

This new Northwoods Mystery starts out with Emma deciding that Cooper’s Cove and the family business is where she belongs. In case you have not read the series starter, there was a bit of a cliffhanger but nothing that impedes the understanding or enjoyment of book two. As a plus, the killer from book one isn’t mentioned. Cooper’s Cove is an amazing lakefront rustic resort situated on the shores of Lake Covington in the Wisconsin Northwoods.

Shade Grown By Heather Day Gilbert: Review/Giveaway/Interview

by Tracy Condie

This new Beans & Barks mystery starts with a home and garden tour gone wrong when siblings Macy and Bo Hatfield come upon more than just dead leaves by the hostas in the memorial shade garden. If you are unfamiliar with the Barks & Beans series, that’s okay because Ms. Gilbert does a great job of giving enough backstory to get you into the loop without making you dizzy.

Serving Up SpiteBy Devon Delaney: Review/Giveaway/Valentine’s Day Post

In book 8 of the Cook-Off Mystery series, it seems that strife and cold weather have come to the town of Augustin, Connecticut in the way of an age-old argument about progress versus tradition. As with all Sally Oliveri books, there is a new cooking contest for Sally to participate in when she isn’t solving the mystery, and wonderful recipes are shared at the conclusion of the mystery.
