This second book of the Zen Goat Mystery series is a thoroughly delightful and fun cozy. It involves goat yoga, a hog racing misfire, fair rides, and midway fun, plus murder. Callie Haybeck moved from the city of Seattle to Bobwhite Hollow to connect with family she found through a DNA website search like Ancestry.com.
Vengeance in the Vines is the follow up to series-starter Tragedy in Tahoe from the Rylie Sunderland mystery series. It picks up where the first one stopped, with Rylie, a displaced veterinarian, trying to be a locum, or substitute, veterinarian. The vet office aspect of the story is a nice touch.
This week we reviews of three more mysteries to end your February-The Incident of the Book in the Nighttime: A Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery by Vicki Delany, Schooled in Murder by Victoria Gilbert, and Irish Soda Bread Murder by Carlene O’Connor, Peggy Ehrhart, Liz Ireland.
Book three of the Josie Posey Mysteries finds English Village celebrating the Christmas season with a Christmas Market and an influx of visitors. Among the sightseers is Nellie’s aunt Opal, twin to notable doll collector Pearl. After books one and two, the Mahjong Mavens were ready to leave the police work to the police. But there is no way the Mavens can ignore the pain that fellow Maven Nellie experiences when her aunt Opal is murdered.
