This past weekend I had the pleasure of being at Selma Arts Center for opening night of Jersey Boys, which is the Valley premiere of this show. I had seen the touring show and the movie, and couldn’t wait to see this production.

Sugar is swee-ee-eet. The 1972 musical, based on Billy Wilder’s 1959 movie Some Like It Hot, based on Fanfare of Love (a 1935 French film), is singing, dancing, and laughing its way into the hearts of audiences in a Good Company Players production at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater through July 14.
Over the last few months, we have interviewed several of the board members of Reedley’s very own theatre company, River City Theatre Co.(RCTC). The Hunchback of Notre Dame—That rings a bell.
Hustle on down to the Ice House Theater in Visalia where the Visalia Players present the stage version of the 1996 Disney animated musical film. You’ll like it (I’ve got a hunch.).
The loons are back on Olive Avenue. You can hear them inside the Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre in On Golden Pond through June 9.
We used to do a lot of local actor profiles early on, but we haven’t done as many in the last several years. It’s not that there aren’t still a lot of talented local actors out there, because there are, but we have expanded into so many other areas over the years that we don’t have as much space for the profiles as we used to.
Fresno Lexus Broadway in Fresno is presenting Aladdin at the Saroyan in Fresno May 1-5. Recently, KRL had the opportunity to interview cast/crew member Edward Cuellar who is actually a local boy from Visalia. Edward is one of the show’s swings, as well as the dance captain and fight captain.
This weekend the epic musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be opening at the Ice House Theatre in Visalia, presented by the Visalia Players. Recently we chatted with the show's director, Kelly Ventura, about the show.
