Joy and Cupcake, two mixed-breed puppies, had a rough start in life. They were born outside and lived their first few weeks outside. When a foster mom for Lone Star Westie Rescue saw a Facebook post about their plight, the rescue reached out and, even though these pups are not Westies, agreed to take them in.

Cupcake

The mom of these two black girls was, oddly, all white. Perhaps she was part Westie. She has already been adopted, leaving the two puppies on their own. The owner then surrendered them to Lone Star Westie Rescue. Both Cupcake and Joy are about six months old. Neither has any health issues. They are spayed and up to date on vaccines, and they are ready for their forever homes.

Cupcake

Cupcake is good with other dogs and even cats. She is currently in a foster home with her sister. Foster mom has a Westie and a cat, and both puppies get along with them. She is also good with kids who know how to treat a dog. Elizabeth, from the rescue, says she is a cuddle bug and enjoys snuggling on a lap after an active play period. At only six months, she enjoys playing with toys and other dogs. She will need a home with a family or couple who can keep up with her puppy antics and, also, be ready to cuddle. She weighs about 13 pounds.

Joy

Joy is also friendly and playful but a bit more reserved than her sister. She, too, gets along with the resident Westie and cat. Like Cupcake, Joy also loves to play with toys and other dogs. She is a bit smaller than Cupcake, weighing in at about 11 pounds. Joy, like her sister, is looking for a forever home with an active family or couple. A dog already in residence, who would be able to keep up with an active puppy, would be enjoyed by both girls, especially if they are adopted separately. Both dogs are about 95 per cent house broken and are crate trained. A fenced-in yard is needed for both girls.

Joy and Cupcake can be adopted separately or together. Each would prefer not to be an only dog.
