As we continue to cover local Halloween events, the Clovis Haunted Trail seems like a perfect one for 2021 since it is outdoors—-still the safest way to gather for a fun time in a pandemic world. We chatted with the creator and coordinator of the event Falina Marihart to learn more.
KRL: What is the Haunted Trail?
Falina: Clovis Haunted Trail is scary haunted, outdoor, walking experience designed to thrill those who love Halloween and all scary things
KRL: What will people experience on the trail?
Falina: You can expect to hear eerie music, foggy trees, and spooky lighting. Live zombies, creepy clowns, coffins, and skeletons climbing about. Headstones, pumpkins, hay bales, and creepy dolls. Face painting and Candy stand.
KRL: How long is it?
Falina: Around 600 feet or 2 football fields.
KRL: Where will it be taking place?
Falina: Behind the Parkway Trails Shopping Center on the Clovis Trail.
KRL: Is this the first time there has been a Clovis Haunted Trail?
Falina: Yes, first year.
KRL: How did you come up with the idea?
Falina: I saw how creepy and scary the trail is at night and thought it would be a great venue for a Halloween event.
KRL: When will it be taking place?
Falina: Last weekend in October. 29 – 31 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
KRL: Is it a family friendly event?
Falina: Yes, there will be a PG section and a PG 13 part.
KRL: I understand that this is a fundraiser for CenCal Youth Sports, can you tell us a bit more about your organization?
Falina: CenCal Youth Sports is a 501c3 non-profit organization that promotes the characteristics of Hard-Work, Integrity, and Trust. They offer a variety of sports and fitness programs for players aged 6-14 in the Fresno and Clovis area. Proceeds, after expenses, will be donated to CenCal Youth Sports.
KRL: How much does the event cost?
Falina: $10 for adults 13+ and $5 for kids 12 and under.
KRL: Where can we get tickets?
Falina: Tickets are only available online. No tickets sold at the gate.
KRL: Will there be any type of Covid protocols?
Falina: Limited capacity and social distancing.
KRL: Anything you would like to add?
Falina: We hope this event is popular and gets good reviews so we can make it bigger and have more participation next year.
