I love Halloween and this Valley knows how to do it up right! There are Halloween events all over-some for kids and some for adults-some free and some cost. Some of them are even fundraisers for a good cause. This week I sat down with Katy Young, Executive Director at ImagineU, to learn about their annual Village Halloween in Visalia!
KRL: What exactly is Village Halloween?
Katy: Village Halloween is a free family event. We provide a fun and safe environment for the community to Trick-or-Treat. We transform the museum into a festive Halloween Village, complete with doors for children to knock on.
KRL: What ages is it for?
Katy: This event is for children 12 and under, with a costume and accompanied by an adult.
KRL: Is this the first year that ImagineU has done this?
Katy: This is our third year putting on Village Halloween.
KRL: What type of preparation does this event involve?
Katy: We will be closed for the day of Halloween to set up for the event. Decorations and Sponsored doors are being put up during this time.
KRL: For those who don’t know, can you explain briefly what ImagineU is?
Katy: ImagineU Children’s Museum is a state-of-the-art learning center, with interactive exhibits for children. We believe that every child and family should have access to a safe environment of play, discovery, and imagination.
KRL: Exactly where and when will Village Halloween be taking place?
Katy: Village Halloween with be taking place at ImagineU Children’s Museum, 210 N. Tipton Street, Visalia, CA 93292 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
KRL: Anything else you would like to add?
Katy: The first 1,500 children will receive a free bag. JC Lansdowne is our event Sponsor for 2018 Village Halloween. Sponsorship opportunities for this event are still available; if you would like more information on how to become a Sponsor, please visit www.imagineumuseum.org/village-halloween.
