If you are looking for more great events to take the kids to for Halloween, be sure to check out the 13th annual Zoo Boo at Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo. This is an event that kids of all ages can enjoy!
“Zoo Boo is a Merry but not so scary trick or treating event,” said Chaffee Zoo marketing director Terri Mejorado. “We have a game lane (carnival type games where you can win prizes), hay maze, bounce house, trick or treating throughout the zoo, Dracula’s disco, and a costume parade.” The Zoo will also be decorated for Halloween.
Those with booths at this year’s event who will be handing out candy and information about their businesses and charities, include Animal Compassion Team, California Arts Academy, The Fresno Grizzlies, Children’s Musical Theaterworks, Gateway Ice Center, Fresno Ultimate Martial Arts, Wienerschnitzel and several others.
For entertainment this year at Zoo Boo there will be a DJ playing kid appropriate music, and entertainer Oklin Bloodworth will be roaming about the zoo singing and interacting with the kids, stated Terri. “It’s a safe place to go trick or treating, not very scary, and you get to enjoy the zoo!”
Zoo Boo will be taking place on October 18, 19, 25 and 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are: Members: $10.00 for adult and $8.00 for kids, Non-members: $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids, Non-members(day of): $14.00 for adults and $12.00 for kids. They can be purchased online at fresnochaffeezoo.org, via phone at 498-5921, or at their ticket booth. Their cafe will also be open with their full menu each evening. Children 13 and under are encouraged to wear costumes. Adults are also welcome to wear costumes if accompanied by a child, as long as they don’t cover up their face. Costumes must be of the non-scary kid friendly variety.
What better way to celebrate Halloween than at the Zoo where you can also enjoy all the great animals, and help raise money for the Chaffee Zoo. The next fun event for kids at the Chaffee Zoo will be Zoo Lights, which begins the Friday after Thanksgiving and runs through December 29.
