Multi talented performer Seth MacFarlane released his new album, Once In A While, in April of this year. It was released by Verve and Republic Records. It features the music of great composers such as Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hart, and Johnny Mercer.
The album includes classic songs from that era such as “Once In A While,” “They Say It’s Wonderful,” “I’ll Be Around,” and “The Things We Did Last Summer.” The thirteen songs on this album are all ballads that MacFarlane says, “deal with longing, lost love, and sadness, infused with fond recollection and a hint of hope.” Many of these are songs once performed by greats such as Frank Sinatra and Seth sings them wonderfully with his smooth and beautiful voice.
Seth MacFarlane is one of the most talented performers of our day. Is there anything this man can’t do, and do well? He is responsible for such television hits as “Family Guy,” and “The Orrville,” and so much more! This is his fifth album and I highly recommend it. Now that I know that he has recorded, on top of everything else he does, I will be searching out those first 4 CD’s!
