Valley Animal Center is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated annual golf tournament, scheduled for Monday, April 1st, at the prestigious Fort Washington Golf & Country Club. This event, now in its third year, promises a day of golf, camaraderie, and, most importantly, support for our furry friends.

The tournament, hosted at Fort Washington’s privately-owned and members-only course, welcomes golfers and animal enthusiasts alike. Individual golfers can register for $150, while foursomes are priced at $600. The day begins with check-in at 9:30 a.m., followed by an exciting game starting at 11 a.m. The event culminates with a formal dinner at 5 p.m., creating a full day of enjoyment for participants.

“One of our main focuses is to make this a fun event for both golfers and animal lovers alike,” said Valley Animal Center’s executive director, Rob Piccolo. “Hopefully they will tell their friends and family, and even more people will participate next year.”

The one thing that unites people at this event is that everyone has a passion for pets. Everyone comes not only because of the weather or the fantastic course, but also because it benefits the animals at the end of the day.

“The tournament confirms why we work at the center,” said Rob. “It confirms that the work that we are doing matters to people, and that pets really impact their lives.”

All proceeds will benefit our shelter animals, going to their care, and helping them find homes.

Fiona’s Story

Fiona is a delightfully sweet and gentle girl who craves affection! She loves to play with cat toys, as long as you join in the fun. While she’s accustomed to living alongside other cats, Fiona would prefer to be the sole recipient of your attention, relishing the spotlight.

Fiona

Originally taken into our care in November 2021 after being abandoned with eight other cats, Fiona found a loving home a month later, where she spent the last two years. Sadly, due to housing reasons, she returned to us, unsure if it was her fault or not.

Now, every day, Fiona eagerly awaits a new home to open its doors and hearts to her. Countless cats like Fiona are left in need of love, making your affection more meaningful than ever.

Carol’s Story

Carol is an endearing 2-year-old Siberian Husky mix with a resilient heart. Carol is a timid dog that will need a lot of love and patience. Despite her initial shyness, she has blossomed into a dog ready to thrive with a patient and caring family.

Carol

Carol has made significant strides in embracing new experiences. She has an explorative spirit, showcasing her newfound confidence. In addition, she has become more social with the other shelter dogs under our care. We believe she is poised to flourish in a warm and understanding home, and we invite you to be a part of Carol’s continued journey of growth and happiness.
