Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno shares with us every other month about their rescue dogs.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day….
Introducing the tall, dark, and handsome boys that are ready to steal your heart.

Chief – Black Male, Age 8
Chief is definitely tall, dark, and handsome but he is also incredibly loyal and loving. Not only that, but Chief is quite the gentleman with wonderful house manners.

Chief

So, you are probably wondering how such a handsome guy like Chief found himself looking for his second chance at love? All too common of a story – taken to the shelter when his previous owners were moving and opted to surrender him to a shelter. He was one of the lucky ones who made it out of the shelter when the mighty defenders of dogs (LRRF) came to rescue him.

You should know that inside this 105-pound body lies a happy heart of pure gold. He loves people of all shapes and sizes – especially ones that throw tennis balls! He may be 8 but he can swim, walk, and chase a ball with the best of them. Chief loves to go for car rides and visit stores. Just call him Mr.

Congeniality! He mostly loves just being with people. He is content to be the only dog in the house. He does not currently live with cats and has barked when he sees one, so it’s unknown whether he would want a feline sibling.

Chief has been living with his foster family and has settled well into a routine. He even puts himself to bed at night. This big guy has so much love to give. Now it is time for this amazing dog to have a “furever” family of his own.

Roger – Black Male, Age 2
Thump, thump, thump – can you hear that? It’s Roger’s tail wagging and knocking on your heart.

Roger had a run of bad luck and found himself on the streets in a rural community. Luckily, a nice lady found him and took him to the local animal shelter. When no one came to claim him as their own, LRRF stepped in and placed him in a loving foster home. A nice soft bed, a full food dish, chewy toys, walks, and of course, lots of love!

Roger

Roger is a fun-loving young guy who LOVES to cuddle! He also loves to play and go on long walks, but his favorite thing to do is still cuddling… and of course, belly rubs. Toys are something that he really enjoys, and he could play all day. He is playful and silly, but he knows to mind his manners. This 73-pound handsome guy is housetrained, crate-trained, and is working on perfecting his leash manners.

Roger is a happy guy with a zest for all life has to offer! Not only does he have the cutest perky ears, but a great personality to match! Roger is friendly and outgoing and always ready to have fun. He gets along well with people of all ages and other dogs, but he loves a game of cat chase, so no feline friends please. Roger’s main focus is his people; he absolutely loves to be petted, cuddled, and snuggled! He would be happy as an only dog or with dog siblings. Like all young dogs, Roger will need a family who will attend training classes with him to ensure a lifetime of good behavior.

Both Chief and Roger are ready for adoption. They have been vet checked, are current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Now they just need a family to give them a nice soft bed, a full food dish, chewy toys, walks, and of course, lots of love!

These are just two of the many dogs available for adoption through Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno.
