Kings River Life’s The Great Food Search sends me (and sometimes my family and/or friends) eating across the San Joaquin Valley. In 2017, the series featured a baker’s dozen (that’s 13) of eating establishments featuring from tamales to killer burgers, from quesadillas to Tandoori pizzas. It was quite a year, and now I am asked to choose my favorites? Oh, the horror!
What do you want in a restaurant?
Good food? Of course.
Wood-fired cooking? Tell me more.
Decent price? That would be nice.
Inviting atmosphere? That helps.
Top-drawer entertainment? Ooh.
A great view. Yeah, I’d like that.
The Taste of the Town returns to Reedley on Thursday, September 21, and the block of G Street, between 11th and 10th, will be turned into an outdoor dining room. According to RDA spokesperson Denny Mason, guests will “dine under the stars”, feasting on the best that local restaurants, gourmet food shops, wineries and breweries have to offer.
Kelly's Beach was a part of Reedley for many years, but last year it was sold and has been turned into the Wakehouse Woodfire Grill and Barrel. We took a moment to chat with manager and talent buyer Justin Simmons about Wakehouse. Justin just joined the team at the beginning of June and is excited to be a part of what looks to be the most happening place in Reedley.
