If you're looking for a fun, and very funny, night at the theatre you should head over to the Ice House in Visalia and check out The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
I had the pleasure of following this show behind the scenes for several weeks from beginning to end doing a series of videos and video interviews. It was a lot of fun, I learned a lot I didn't know, and it reminded me just how much work goes into putting a show together. All that hard work definitely paid off.

Get ready for a romp down memory lane with the Visalia Players’ musical season opener The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Six spellers, adults playing youngsters, arrive at the national contest overseen by Rona Lisa Peretti (Ali Malingen). Rona’s helpers are Douglas Panch (Sean Hopper) the “word giver” and Mitch Mahoney (Cristian Duran) the “comfort counselor.”

As Kings River Life continues to follow the Visalia Community Players production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee musical, for week seven we are talking with stage manager Elicia Russell about her job with the show and also about lights and sound, and one more cast interview with Cristian Duran. Opening night keeps inching closer but we still have more great interviews coming your way including more cast & touching base again with the directors. We might even get a sneak peek at the goings on backstage during dress rehearsal! Keep coming back each Sunday morning until the show opens August 17 & one final post on August 19!
