The musical West Side Story opened last weekend at the Reedley Opera House, presented by Reedley’s River City Theatre Co. This cast has the distinction of being made up primarily of high school and college students, making them closer to the actual age of the characters they are playing, giving this show an extra bit of realism.

This is the second production of Into the Woods that I have seen in the last few weeks. I know I can always count on a StageWorks Fresno show to be well done, and their production of this Sondheim musical is no exception.

Side by Side by Sondheim is a musical revue of some of the many songs written by famous Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. The show includes songs from such popular shows as A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum, Company, Gypsy, A Little Night Music, West Side Story.

This weekend A Little Night Music opened in Fresno at the Cal Arts Severance Theatre presented by StageWorks Fresno. As usual, StageWorks Fresno never disappoints. It was a wonderful show filled with incredible talent.
