The amount of games released is ramping up as the new year is beginning. Developers are jumping at the chance to be the hot new thing that every gamer talks about at the start of the year. With the excitement of game of the year awards dwindling, it is time to get back to the heart of it all: playing new games.
The video game industry is a scary place right now. Several streamers, developers, producers, and more have been accused of grooming young fans, sexual harassment, abuse of power, etc. But despite this grim news, there have also been several exciting game announcements and some game releases.
June is usually an exciting time for video games because of the E3 conference. Unfortunately, due to what is currently going on in the world, E3 is no longer happening. But this has not stopped gaming publishers and developers from having online, live-streamed press conferences of their own.
Despite what is currently going on in the world right now, the video game industry is thriving. Companies have found ways of still producing games while being at home and are taking the opportunity to give something for those staying at home to do.
E3 is gamer heaven. Games that people have only dreamt of will finally be a reality, and the heart beats fast with anticipation of what game announcements may come. E3 is my favorite time of year.
This month only one super exciting game has been released, and because of this, I have taken to trying some older games to pass the time. One of those older games is the popular Stardew Valley, released on February 26, 2016.
