Mary Poppins Presented by Lindsay Community Theater

The smash Broadway hit, Mary Poppins, is the spring musical for the Lindsay Community Theater. Show dates for Mary Poppins are April 19, 20, 26, & 27 at 7:30 p.m. and April 21 & 28 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are adults $15 ($10 online in advance) and students $5. Olivaia’s OLA Award Winning Olive Oil

This year Olivaia's OLA in Lindsay, CA won Best of the Valley in the Big Fresno Fair San Joaquin Valley Olive Oil Competition. We decided to reach out to them and learn more about this locally grown olive oil. Recently we chatted with Giulio Zavolta, who is cofounder of Olivaia’s OLA together with his wife Rachelle Bross. Giulio is educated and trained in architecture, and Rachelle is a PhD trained dietitian.

Theatre in the Valley During Shelter-In-Place

This has been a difficult time for everyone. Not only are businesses closed that aren’t essential, but all events have been canceled as well. Many of those events have found creative ways to happen virtually, providing mostly free entertainment for those of us stuck in our homes. Community theatre has been hit particularly hard, canceling their shows has not only been disappointing for everyone, but they also don’t have those ticket sales coming in to help pay the bills.

Community theatre is a very important part of any community and the Valley has been blessed with a multitude of community theatre companies. A few weeks ago we sat down with Jim Kleigl, who is the current theater manager of the Lindsay Community Theater, to learn more about theirs. While their current shows have been canceled or postponed like all others in this time of crisis, they eagerly await being able to perform again.
