The Kingsburg High School Theater Company presents the heartwarming comedy The Curious Savage, written by John Patrick and directed by Laura Vallenari and Richard Mynderup.
This spring, Kingsburg High School will be doing a production of the classic musical Bye Bye Birdie. The stage musical is a satire on American society set in the late 1950s and inspired by the Army draft notice given famously to Elvis Presley in 1957.
Whether they fully realize it yet or not remains to be seen, but Kingsburg High School (KHS) students have just experienced a dream come true. On March 4, 2011, myself and fifty-eight others, including forty-six members of the KHS Wind Ensemble, boarded a school bus and traveled to San Francisco International Airport. Our destination was New York City and the world-renowned Carnegie Hall.
The young women don their matching long skirts and jackets, put on their bonnets, and thrust their cold hands into hand muffs for warmth. The young men dress in black pants, white tuxedo shirts, black capes and top hats. They wear festive colored shawls and vests respectively, bringing rays of sunshine to the dreary winter.
