It’s for that latter that the Mims Whims hat shop owners Notting Hill have been called upon to design bridal headpieces for the bride-proclaimed “Wedding of the Year,” after the previous designer took off with the fascinators and Piper May’s deposit.

In Briar Creek, it’s almost Halloween. As the library staff gets ready for the spooky holiday, librarian Lindsey Norris learns William Dorchester is in town to settle his mother, Marion, into an assisted living home. He plans to sell the house and its contents and wants to donate all the books to the library to use however they want. Marion objects, of course, but suffering a form of dementia, is overruled.
Until shots are fired at Fairy Tales Cupcake Bakery co-owner Melanie Cooper DeLaura, Mel thought her biggest headache would be refrosting hundreds of cupcakes to match the ever-changing mind of her bridezilla client. Honestly, after thirteen previous murder investigations, it’s a miracle that it’s taken this long for Mel to appear on someone’s hit list, be it from an unhappy client, envious rival baker, or the dozens of killers she and her assistant district attorney husband Joe have helped to put behind bars.
