Roger Minassian was the pastor of a prominent church in Fresno when his heart was deeply touched by the needs of gang members and felons like Vanna In. He stepped down from his position and his secure salary to give his life to kids on the streets of Fresno, California.
The musical West Side Story opened last weekend at the Reedley Opera House, presented by Reedley's River City Theatre Co. This cast has the distinction of being made up primarily of high school and college students, making them closer to the actual age of the characters they are playing, giving this show an extra bit of realism.
Here is yet another Christmas mystery short story, this one has never before been published and is set in Fresno. Patricia Brown is a member of the San Joaquin Chapter of Sisters In Crime and this is her second published short story and KRL has another coming in 2012 in this same series.
So sometimes art mirrors life, and sometimes it’s the other way round, but the local feature film, Finding Hope Now, has done both, passing through some sort of prism. It was shot in Fresno in 2009 and I was privileged to work on this film as Producer as well as the chance to wear several other hats. This is the film’s amazing story thus far.
