I have found that downtowns have some of the most interesting shops, and Reedley, CA is no exception. Recently we chatted with the owner of Cottonwood Clothing in Downtown Reedley, Emma Cuevas.
A few months ago a new coffee shop opened in downtown Reedley called Mama's Café. My daughter and I now visit there on a regular basis. This is something that has been missing from downtown for awhile now-it is nice to have somewhere other than Starbucks to go to for good coffee and a nice place to hang out. But Mama's offers a lot more than that. Recently we sat down to chat with owners Jose and Jacqueline Escoto to learn a bit more about this unique shop.
Recently a new shop opened in Downtown Reedley called Sweet Destination. I went in to check it out and was delighted by what I saw! This place is so charming and filled with so many unique items. The owner, Shelly Henderson, shared with me that the theme of "destination" is showcased throughout the store as she showed me their tables with street sign tabletops (Shelly's co-owner and husband Mike built the tables), an old luggage cart, their counter is made out of a 100 year old door, and even their business cards are shaped like luggage tags!
There’s a new store in downtown Reedley that caters just to kids, and moms looking for a bargain. All parents know how hard it is to provide clothes and shoes for growing kids, not to mention how hard that is on the family budget. Streetlight Kids, located at 960 10th Street, is offering good, used clothes and lots of other things kids need at a good, bargain price.
In 2013, several new businesses have opened up in Reedley--Urban Roots, MCC Cafe, Mooner's, and now Morgan's Pair-a-Dice. Each trying to bring something new and unique to Reedley's downtown.
