Let It Go! Let it go!
It’s the call of any child who has seen Disney’s animated Frozen. Children’s Musical Theaterworks (CMT) has brought the kid version of the Broadway adaptation, Disney Frozen Jr., to Fresno’s Veterans Memorial Theater through August 13.
Everyone loves Lion King. I mean it has everything: romance, adventure, plots against kings, and even a little family drama, all while being a cute Disney movie the whole family can enjoy. Children’s Musical Theaterworks takes Disney’s Lion King Jr and presents a musical that everyone can enjoy as well—whether you have a kid in the cast or not. My boyfriend and I didn’t know anyone in the show, and we still had a great night.
This past weekend saw the Central Valley premiere of the musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame, presented by Children's Musical Theaterworks (CMT) in Fresno. I had never seen this show before, but now it is on my list as being one of my favorite shows.
This has been the year of Mary Poppins for theatre in the Valley, and this Mary Poppins year ends with Children's Musical Theaterworks presentation of the show which opens on December 4. We took a moment to chat with the show's director, Jenny Myers.

This weekend we went to see Little Mermaid Jr. presented by Children's Musical Theaterworks (CMT) in Fresno. I had never seen a Jr. production of a show before, nor had I seen one of CMT's productions where the cast ranges in age from 13 to 18 (I have only seen their Underground shows), so I didn't know what the expect. What followed was a lovely evening with a show presented by some very talented kids.
The San Joaquin Valley is filled with amazing talent, both in theatre and music.
