Art is not meant to be purely visual; it should engage all of your senses. At least, this is the mission of Fresno artist, Ann Leedy.
Ann has always been an admirer of beautiful things, but didn’t truly understand her passion for art until adulthood. As a child, she enjoyed reading, writing, and drawing, and attended the California Guild of Arts and Crafts.
“I’m a curious little artist,” said Teresa Flores. Taking your thoughts and emotions and channeling them into something for other people to admire truly is a work of heart. That’s exactly what this local artist does for her community.
While his full-time job may be passing along the basics of his artistic and practical craft to students of all ages at Reedley College, David Hicks relishes in taking the bits and pieces of organic inspiration found in the Central Valley and creating both monolithic pieces and conglomerations of smaller parts with his medium of choice, inorganic clay.

While they say art is in the eye of the beholder, there are few classical artists whose work would not be appreciated by the masses. Nature and photography go hand in hand for award-winning Fresno photographer and musician Larry W. Cusick, whose love of birds makes the avian species one of his favorite muses. But variety is the spice of life, and Cusick has also made a name for himself as a maker of music, playing the fiddle, Irish flute, and uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes).
This past week this year's Rogue Festival Muse was revealed. It was created by local artist Kristina Stork. The Muse is chosen by the Rogue Festival's Executive director, who this year is Amber Strid.
