KRL has been covering Good Company Players (GCP) shows ever since we began thirteen years ago. It has been a privilege and joy! This year GCP is celebrating its 50th anniversary and we took a moment to chat with GCP Creative Director Laurie Pessano, who also happens to be the wife of GCP’s owner Dan Pessano.
UR Here’s Summer Season is coming up soon, so we took a moment to chat with Jonathon Hogan, their Vice President and a Founding Member of the theatre company, about what they are planning. They also will be doing their first full production this fall.
The Good Company Players’ holiday shows at the 2nd Space Theatre have always been a good bet; there’s no dinner with the show like you’d get at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater, but the price is lower for a classic, love-and-laugh-filled memory or a musical review to lift the spirits. It could be The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, It’s a Wonderful Life: a Radio Play, or A Christmas Carol, or a lively conglomeration of comedy and music like this year’s Holly Jolly Holiday, playing through December 19.
Barefoot in the Park, Neil Simon’s longest-running Broadway play, turns fifty-eight years old this year. Is it still funny? Under Dan Pessano’s expert direction, the Good Company Players’ production at the GCP Second Space answers with a resounding…”YES!”
As theatre gradually returns to local stages it is taking on many forms, including staged readings. We recently chatted with Christine Myers, a member of UR Here Theater, to learn about the staged readings they are doing at 2nd Space Theatre in Fresno. Christine is a board member of UR Here Theater and the director of the readings.

The Selma Arts Center will be presenting Cabaret starting on November 8 and local actor Meg Clark will be playing the role of Sally Bowles. Meg was born in Fresno but grew up in Reedley and Dinuba. We took a moment to chat with her about her life, acting, and about taking on this role.
Daphne du Maurier wrote moody, atmospheric fiction, sometimes paranormal, with love entwined—"romance noir,” where characters with a happy ending aren’t really that happy. Rebecca, Jamaica Inn, The Birds, Frenchman’s Creek…and My Cousin Rachel. The Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre currently presents a tense, breathtaking adaptation through October 13.
