As he gears up for an appearance at the Tulare Sci-Fi Con 2017 the second weekend of March, Fresno filmmaker Matt Sconce (director of locally shot films Stricken, Firefall, and Altar) sat down with Kings River Life to discuss his latest project, a 10-episode sci-fi web series called SuperBlam.
In June I went to my first VidCon in Anaheim and it was amazing! For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's kind of like an online content convention--some people call it a YouTube convention, but there's so much more out there now than just YouTube.
Rooster Teeth is a production company for online content based in Austin, Texas. They started 13 years ago when they began to create a web series called Red Vs. Blue in a small room in one of the founder of Rooster Teeth’s, Burnie Burns, apartment.
I enjoy discovering web series--there are so many great ones out there that more people need to know about! Recently I discovered an absolutely amazing pilot for a new web series called Intricate Vengeance! It turns out that it is from the creative mind of someone we have chatted with before--writer, actor, producer, and director Wilson Cleveland. So we took some time to chat with him about this amazing new series!
Sometimes Canada gets it right: Canadian Mounted Police, Canadian Whiskey, Canadian bacon, and along with those, a unique Canadian detective television show. Murdoch Mysteries premiered in January, 2008, based on the mystery novels of the same name by Maureen Jennings, who also acts as an executive producer. The series is seen on Canadian television CBC, but through fortuitous channel surfing, it was found to also be airing on Ovation, a U.S. cable television network, under the title The Artful Detective.

Web series are growing in popularity with more and more people discovering them. There are some amazing shows out there, and we at KRL enjoy sharing about some of those every once in awhile. This week we are sharing Jessica's video review of the Rooster Teeth animated web series RWBY, which she posted on her YouTube channel in November of 2014!

Fans of the Morganville Vampires books by Rachel Caine will be thrilled to know that the first book, Glass Houses, has been turned into a web series that went up this week! And to top it off Amber Benson of Buffy fame is among the cast! KRL took a moment to chat with Rachel about the web series this week as it was going up on Geek and Sundry.
