We used to do a lot of local actor profiles early on, but we haven’t done as many in the last several years. It’s not that there aren’t still a lot of talented local actors out there, because there are, but we have expanded into so many other areas over the years that we don’t have as much space for the profiles as we used to.
Fresno Lexus Broadway in Fresno is presenting Aladdin at the Saroyan in Fresno May 1-5. Recently, KRL had the opportunity to interview cast/crew member Edward Cuellar who is actually a local boy from Visalia. Edward is one of the show’s swings, as well as the dance captain and fight captain.
This weekend the epic musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be opening at the Ice House Theatre in Visalia, presented by the Visalia Players. Recently we chatted with the show's director, Kelly Ventura, about the show.
Many years ago when I was writing for the Reedley Exponent I did a series of articles getting to know the officers of the Reedley Police Department. I decided it was time to do a version of that here at KRL as we chat with two of Reedley’s female officers. The musical Anastasia will open this weekend at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia. We took a moment this week to chat with the show’s director, James McDonnell, Professor of Theatre and Resident Costume Designer, about the show.
I love coffee, and some of my favorite mysteries are set in coffeeshops. Cleo Coyle’s Coffeehouse Mysteries was the first series to introduce me to this wonderful combination, and a few years ago I discovered another coffee-related mystery series, the Ground Rules Mysteries by Emmeline Duncan. The Ground Rules Series is also set in one of my favorite places, Portland, Oregon. The fourth book, Death Unfiltered, was released recently.
The third season of The Madame Blanc Mysteries just finished airing on AcornTV and this season was just as much fun as the previous two. Acorn TV is a perfect place to find a wide variety of mysteries.

Ani-Me Con 12.0 will be held at the Big Fresno Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 16 - Sunday, March 17. We have attended the past two years, and they are always a lot of fun. It’s great to have an event like this in Fresno.
