Ghost Rider Spirt of Vengeance: Movie Review

by Jesus Ibarra

Nic Cage returns in this pseudo-sequel of the of the 2007 film Ghost Rider as the titular anti-hero. I call this a pseudo-sequel because really you don’t have to watch the first film to watch and like or not like this movie. If you did watch the first film, or you wanted to because you are OCD like that you will see some differences, and some of the same problems.

by Jesus Ibarra

Evanescence comes roaring back after a near six-year break with their self-titled record that sees them move into a more cohesive direction. Following the end of their last tour, Evanescence went into hiatus in 2007 with no indication when they would be back. What followed were dabbles out of Evanescence until, in 2009, front woman Amy Lee announced the new lineup of the band with the only other constant Terry Balsamo, and had gotten together to begin writing new material for an album.

Hanna: Movie Review

by Jesus Ibarra

Hanna, starring Saoirse Ronan, is a revenge film that surprisingly has many layers to it, mostly because of the superb acting from Saoirse as Hanna and the object of her revenge, Cate Blanchet’s CIA Agent Marissa Wiegler. The film also benefits from an awesome electronic score that sets the mood for the action when it ramps up, or when the film slows down its pace. The directing also gives the film a unique atmosphere that just draws you in sometimes, making the film fast paced when it needs to be and slows it down when it has to.

The Pack by Jason Starr: Book Review

by Jesus Ibarra

Jason Starr presents what happens to a normal guy, Simon Burns, who gets lured into a “pack” by three other stay at home dads who are more than they seem to be. Simon’s life isn’t going that great. He gets fired, he is having marital problems, and is adjusting to becoming a stay at home dad. And after being drawn into a wild night, he blacks out and wakes up in the woods naked. After that night, Simon notices extreme changes. Simon is suddenly stronger, faster, acute senses, and overall more animalistic. The gist is he has become a werewolf and possibly killed somebody.
