Family-Friendly Festivities

Attendees are encouraged to come in costume, but costumes are not required. For the younger ghouls and goblins, the venue will be providing complimentary Trick or Treat bags. Face painting services will also be available courtesy of Jason Field.

The night will feature performances by four popular local bands: Stoneshiver, Macondo, Hyacinth, and Unlikely. Between band sets, DJ Spuk[ish] will keep the music going. Josh Teehee, local Fresno musician and Fresno Bee journalist, will MC the night’s proceedings. “The range in music genres provides something for everyone,” Stoneshiver band member James Davis explained. “The bands who are booked this year are taking the show to another level,” bandmate Phillip Hernandez added.

In addition to the entertainment, attendees can enjoy Kingsburg favorite Julie’s Tacos, who will be setting up their food truck in front of the venue. There will also be a beer and wine garden featuring a wide variety of choices, including local brews.

A New Halloween Tradition

It’s Scary On The Surface has become an annual tradition in Selma, building on the success of the springtime Stoneshiver Jamboree in neighboring Kingsburg. The October show aims to capture the same festive spirit and create a fun and welcoming space for the whole community. Hernandez, a key organizer of the two events, expressed his enthusiasm: “Our goal with this fall show is to take the momentum from the Jamboree and create a similar version in Selma. We’re excited to see it continue to expand and welcome new fans.” “This isn’t an impersonal mega-sized event where every part has been designed to maximize profit” Davis confirmed. “This is a festival where you meet up your neighbors, people you know from community soccer, or are new friends you make around what we all have in common.”

This (not so) scary celebration is sure to get your family’s Halloween season off to a great start. See you there!

The event is proudly presented by C’s & D’s Construction and Remodeling.
