Author Catherine Davitt returns to the Keys to research Hemingway’s wives for her new book but is also determined to uncover the truth about her missing friend. Food critic Hayley Snow quickly joins her investigation, and they set out to gather clues.

In the late 1970s, Catherine and her friend Veronica were part of a group camping in the mangroves of Big Pine Key. When Veronica disappeared and the sheriff’s office cleared the camp, mysteries began to unfold. Catherine and Hayley interview locals from that time, leading to more questions than answers.
