Merlin was purchased as a young pup from a breeder out West. The family that bought him meant well, but with no prior Scottie or terrier experience, they found the sweet but playful pup to be a bit too much for the busy family.

Merlin has no health issues. However, he has not been neutered as he is too young. An adopter will need to sign a neuter contract with the rescue pledging to have him neutered at one year old. The rescue will pay for the procedure.
Merlin is looking for a quiet home, not a large active family. He would love a dog sibling that would not bully him, but that he could play and bond with. He is a gentle, reserved pup who does not bark a lot. It takes him a bit to get to know new people as he is quiet and laid back, but enjoys people once he gets to know them. He is housebroken and enjoys walking on a leash, especially with another dog. He sleeps with his foster mom, enjoys cuddling and napping with her, and likes being picked up for a snuggle. He would love a fenced in yard where he can run, play with his sibling, and “hunt” critters. He is a lovely, easy dog with few requirements.
Because he is young with a long life ahead of him, the rescue is looking for a stable adopter. They want him to go to a person, or couple, who owns their own home rather than renting. It is also important that he is in a forever home with younger retirees or middle-age folks he will not outlive. They are also looking for someone with terrier or Scottie experience who can understand his reserved nature. He needs someone to be with and walk with. Most of all, he needs a dog sibling to be his pal.
Merlin would be a wonderful companion for a single woman or a retired couple in a quiet home.

A terrier too much?! Nooo! Impossible! HAH!
Hello, Lee. It’s Lori Rumpf in Lansing, Michigan again. I had an exuberant terrier mix, and I absolutely ADORED that dog! Crissy was also part chow, which is one of my least favorite dog breeds, but she didn’t have a mean bone in her body. I hope this little one gets a terrier-iffic GREAT new home!
Would consider adopting him,my Scottie, Elvis passed five years ago, have been looking to adopt another Scottie. I have filled out application with the Scottie rescue organization but never hear back .I live in a single family home with no other pets and have an enclosed back yard.
