Magic Misled is the seventh book in the Lizzie Grace fantasy series by Keri Arthur. Lizzie is a witch and a psychic who has been on the run for a long time from her powerful magical family. Her family blames Lizzie for her sister’s death, and they trapped her in an unwanted marriage. However, she is not alone she has her best friend and familiar Belle. The pair now runs a tea and psychic consulting business on a werewolf reservation in Australia.

In the sixth book, the situation with Lizzie’s family came to a head and her husband ended up dead. Unfortunately, that didn’t bring an end to her troubles. Now she faces the witch politics she knew she would face once they found her, and her family still hasn’t stopped trying to marry her off to someone “suitable.” It doesn’t matter to them that she is very much in love with werewolf ranger Aiden. Sadly, Lizzie knows that their relationship probably can’t last forever, but she is trying to enjoy every minute she gets with him. Members of his family though, are trying to make it end sooner rather than later. As if that wasn’t enough, something is killing people on the reservation yet again and they have to figure out who or what and stop them. But this time is different—this time it isn’t just some magical monster, it is someone bent on revenge.

I absolutely love this series—it is the perfect blend of fantasy and mystery. The characters are delightful and complicated. The relationship slowly growing between Belle and Lizzie’s cousin Monty (who is now the reservation witch) is so much fun. Monty has been in love with Belle forever but Belle has always resisted—could her heart finally be melting? I wish I could visit their café in real life, it sounds so cozy and welcoming, and the food and coffee sound heavenly. It is also fun to read a series set in Australia.

Magic Misled ticks all the boxes for me. Well written, a mystery filled with twists and turns, great well-developed characters, and a wonderful fantasy world filled with werewolves, vampires, and witches. I highly recommend this book, but you really need to start with the first in the series! All books have been reviewed in either KRL or KRL News and Reviews.
