Are you a gamer? Are you a geek? Do you like quality writing? If any of those apply to you, then you will love The Guild. The Guild is a web series created/written/starring the web-famous redhead, Felicia Day (who was also in Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible). The series is about a group of gamers who are in a guild called The Knights of Good. A guild is a group of people in an online role-playing game who take care of each other and depend on one another for their success in the game. 
They all call each other by their game user names, not their actual name. In the first episode Codex, whose real name is Syd Sherman, decides that the guild needs to meet in person. This causes an upset within the group because none of them know how to interact with people in the real world.
They all do eventually meet up and become close friends and throughout the series you get to follow their adventures that of course always tie in somehow with the game. Codex (Felicia Day) is the priestess with social issues. Zaboo (Sandeep Parikh) is the warlock with mommy issues. Vork (Jeff Lewis) is the guild leader/warrior who won’t spend money. Bladezz (Vincent Caso) is the rogue. Bladezz, the youngest of the group, hits on the female guild members, and used to be a model. Clara (Robin Thorsen) is the mage who is a full-time irresponsible mother. Tinkerballa (Amy Okuda) is the ranger who is a pre-med student with a lot of attitude. A lot of the story is told from Syd’s point of view.
The show first aired on July 27, 2007 and a new season airs every summer. New episodes, which are only five to nine minutes long, are available on Tuesdays through X-box live and Zune and on Thursday through MSN video. They are currently in their fifth season.
This show brings me joy. I recently started watching it on Netflix. The Guild helped me through some tough times. It is definitely a show worth watching if you want to laugh and smile for days. And Bladezz is cute which doesn’t hurt!

Editors Note: Just in case you think this show is only for teens, I wanted to add my input. After my daughter watched the first four seasons she begged me to watch it with her. I had never before watched a web series and didn’t know what to expect. This show is awesome and appeals across the ages. I was surprised to see how well done, and well written a web show could be. I highly recommend it to everyone!
