Chipwrecked is the third Chipmunks movie. In this movie, Dave takes the Chipmunks and Chipettes on a family cruise and as is typical for Alvin he finds trouble wherever he goes because he always wants to have fun and doesn’t like following the rules.

Trouble starts when Alvin and the chipmunks are flown off the ship by a kite and end up stuck on an island. Ian, who was also on the second movie as the villain, is the ship mascot dressed up like a duck. He tries to stop Dave from taking a hang glider to rescue them, but they also end up on the island and begin searching for the chipmunks.

On the island, the Chipmunks run into Zoe who has been on the island for ten years. They think she is nice but discover she is searching for a treasure and will do anything to get it. Simon is bitten by a spider that changes his personality where he becomes irresponsible and that leads to Alvin in a position where he has to create shelter for them as they wait for Dave to come to the rescue.

This Chipmunks movie is fun, especially for those who watched the Chipmunks cartoon in the 80s. As a child, I especially enjoyed their Christmas special. My daughter had asked for months after seeing a commercial for Chipwrecked to go see it and she enjoyed it as much as she expected to. She really loves the music and danced to the credits, she didn’t want it to be over. This is a fun movie to enjoy with the whole family.

Chipwrecked is now playing at Dinuba Platinum Theatres 6. Showtimes can be found on their website.
