If I can’t go in person and visit the town of Fern Valley from Heather Weidner’s Jules Keene Glamping Mystery Series, reading another entry into this charming cozy mystery series is the next best thing. Deadlines and Valentines is book four in the series and could easily be read as a standalone.
Fern Valley is nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and main character Jules Keene owns and operates a “glamping” resort. Her resort offers themed tiny houses and fancy campers for rent. Jules is also an active member of the local business council and helps to plan and organize events. The latest event is a Valentine’s Day “Love is in the Air” Book Festival with events like Death by Chocolate, author speed dating, a character masquerade, and a male cover model fashion show.
The romance authors participating in the event are staying at the resort, and they represent a wide variety of personalities and levels of drama. It takes a lot of work and patience to keep everyone happy. Unfortunately one of the authors, who is as kind and drama-free as she is popular, is found murdered in the barn at Jules’ resort. Several more are attacked, and Jules and a wonderful cast of characters go on the hunt for the culprit before anyone else gets hurt or worse!
This is such a fun series, and this latest entry did not disappoint. Slightly under 300 pages, I was able to slip into this mystery right away and enjoyed every page. The details bring the setting to life, and I could feel the cold and easily visualize the Valentine’s celebrations. Jules is such a smart sleuth and there are several witty moments throughout the story. Enjoy this story now, or if you enjoy reading seasonally, put this at the top of your February to-be-read stack. You won’t regret the read!

Sounds interesting! Count me in!
Thanks so much!
Sounds like a fun series, and it’s great that it can be read as a standalone. I often get into series somewhere in the middle rather than the beginning.
We have a winner!
