Don’t miss the high-flying Broadway musical, Peter Pan coming to the Immanuel Stage for eight exciting performances November 15, 16, 22, & 23 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Join Wendy, John, and Michael as they fly off to Neverland for one adventure after another with Peter Pan and the Lost Boys.

Peter Pan is the light-hearted and adventurous story of a young boy who never wants to grow up and always wants to have fun. Peter takes Wendy, John, and Michael on the adventure of a lifetime to his home: Neverland. To reach Neverland you must fly to the second star to the right and straight on ’til morning! When the children reach this island, they encounter nasty pirates, fierce Natives, and crazy lost boys! Peter Pan poster2

Peter Pan is directed by Immanuel Performing Arts teacher Rick Robbins, with choreography by Lisa Hinds.

This production also includes special flying effects provided by Fly by Foy from Las Vegas (who originated the flying effects for Mary Martin in the original Broadway production).

When some of the cast was asked what their favorite part was about playing their character, they each responded with different aspects of the show. Beau Hatch (Captain Hook) said, “Reaching beyond my regular personality and getting in touch with another personality has been my favorite part about being Hook. Also I’m making an unbreakable bond with the other cast members.”

Megan Fox (Peter Pan) responded with, “Being able to portray a character that allows me to act carefree and be silly alongside my friends is my favorite part of this show. Also, it’s been an amazing opportunity to experience flying!”

Alden Bettencourt (Smee) answered with, “Getting to be a silly character! Even if Smee is an adult character, he’s still silly. I typically play serious characters, so it has been fun to do something new!”

J.M. Barrie is the writer of this particular production of Peter Pan. Born on May 9, 1860, in Scotland, J.M. Barrie was a Scottish dramatist, best known for writing Peter Pan in 1904, or The Boy Who Would Never Grow Up. After he moved to London, he met the Llewelyn Davies boys who inspired his masterpiece, Peter Pan.

The cast has worked very hard to make this production great and fun for all audiences. They hope to see you all there to support Immanuel High School’s theater department!
