Halloween Trunk-or-Treat: The Spookiest Car Show Returns/Salem’s Story

Mark your calendars for October 26 at 1 p.m. as Valley Animal Center is thrilled to invite you to its Fourth Annual Trunk-or-Treat Car Show, a frightfully fun celebration perfect for the whole family! This annual event, taking place at 3934 N. Hayston Avenue, seeks to bring community members together to raise both in-kind and monetary donations for the nonprofit no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.

Get ready to don your spookiest attire and enjoy a day filled with creatively decorated cars handing out treats (while supplies last). This event offers a little something for everyone, including a thrilling costume contest for kids, delicious food vendors, unique shopping opportunities, and an array of spooky attractions.

“This is a fantastic way to celebrate Halloween while supporting our animals,” says Rob Piccolo, our executive director.

Entry to the event is simple: make a monetary donation or bring in-kind donations such as high-efficiency laundry detergent, bleach, anti-bacterial dish soap, new toys, or wet cat food. Every contribution goes directly to the care of their animals, helping provide quality care for homeless dogs and cats like Salem (ID: 28913), who is still waiting for a forever home.

Named after the iconic town known for its grand Halloween celebrations, Salem is the sweetest companion you could adopt this fall. This adorable Shepherd mix came from a local shelter and is now ready to find her forever home!

Since her arrival, Salem has shown a calm demeanor while also enjoying playful moments with her doggy friends. Though she has been overlooked due to her shyness, she deserves a loving home just like any other dog. Salem needs a patient family that can provide the love and support she needs to truly thrive.
