Pam and her husband, both farmers with a penchant for innovation, found their way to Kingsburg and saw an opportunity to create something special. Pam, a registered dietitian by trade, was looking for a project to occupy her time while her kids were in school. With a creative spark and a passion for serving her community, she decided to open a moms’ and kids’ café. The concept was a hit, providing a space where families could gather, dine, and enjoy quality time together. Says Pam, “The people are great. The customers are great. I love it!”

As the years went by and the community’s needs evolved, Uptown Sprouts adapted. During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant expanded its offerings and removed some of the kid-specific options, but its commitment to quality and creativity never wavered. Today, Uptown Sprouts boasts not one but two trailers, a testament to its enduring popularity.

As Pam describes it, “The flavors blend together – artichoke, chicken, pesto – they blend really well. It’s cheesy and toasted and delicious.”

Real fruit smoothies are another popular choice, highlighting the restaurant’s dedication to quality ingredients. Says Pam, “I like to offer different things. Like French toast, we make it out of a different bread. We want to offer different things and keep our customers coming back.”

Everything is made from scratch, which may take a bit more time, but customers understand that it’s worth the wait. Many have even encouraged Pam to franchise the concept across the country, a testament to its undeniable appeal.
