JoJo is a playful, year-and-a-half old cat. A couple of months ago, she came to Valley Animal Center from Valley Oak SPCA and has been waiting patiently for a forever home ever since. She is adored by our staff because of her outgoing nature.
Valley Oak SPCA asked us to take JoJo because, unfortunately, she does not have eyelids. The exact cause is unknown, but we’re predicting that JoJo was in a burn accident that led to the loss of her eyelids. Without any eyelids, JoJo can suffer of health issues like bacterial infections and dry eyes. Luckily, JoJo will be having reconstructive eyelid surgery to help minimize the high chance of any health complication.
Even with the reconstructive surgery, JoJo’s eyelid problem will not be 100% fixed. For JoJo’s post-operation care, we recommend that she has annual check-ups with a veterinarian to monitor her eye care. Preferably, the veterinarian should be well aware of JoJo’s medical history.
JoJo should go to a home that will have plenty of love and care to give to her. She will do great in any type of home with any type of family since she is so loving and very playful. Even better, JoJo gets along with children, dogs, and other cats. However, we do recommend she be a strictly indoor cat due to her eye condition.
Like all of our adoptable animals, JoJo has already been spayed/neutered, de-wormed, is up-to-date on her vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. For the month of August, adult cats, including JoJo are $40, kittens are $65, large dogs are $50, small dogs are $75, and puppies are $175. If you would like more information about JoJo or any of our adoptable animals, please call the Valley Animal Center at 559-233-8690 or stop by our facility. Our cat and dog adoption centers are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

She looks like a real sweetie. I have a special needs cat and I’ve found it’s so rewarding and inspirational because special needs animals just keep plugging, no pity parties.
What a beautiful kitty JoJo is! What a shame she has to go through surgery but hopefully it will make life a little better for her. I hope she finds the home she needs and someone to give her all the care and love she deserves.
Jo Jo looks like such a sweetheart! We hope her forever family finds her soon.
She looks adorable and I so wish I could adopt a cat but cannot in the building I am in as I have Layla. I pray she finds a new home soon where she will be loved
She’s such a pretty cat! I bet she’ll have no trouble finding an awesome home, even with her eyelid issues.
JoJo is such a beautiful cat, I hope a very kind and compassionate person offers her a new home soon. It’s always rewarding to rescue a homeless animal, but to rescue one that may need some extra care is really good for the soul.
Reconstructive eye lid surgery? You can do that? Wow. Hoping for the best for this little girl. I’d love to take her as I seem to be specializing in special needs cats, but I’m at capacity and in a different country.
JoJo looks like a sweetheart! I hope she is adopted soon.
JoJo is adorable. Rough to have no eyelids. I’m sure she will find the perfect home after she heals up from her surgery.
Oh she’s lovely. I hope her surgery goes OK and that she finds a caring and sensitive forever home.
It is amazing what veterinary medicine can accomplish these days, though not everything. And forever grateful to people who make these things happen.
Poor kitty 🙁 I hope everything goes well with her eyes!
Wow…I did not realize that reconstructive eyelid surgery was an option. That is really great for JoJo. I love her markings – such a pretty kitty. I hope all goes well with the surgery for her and that her recuperation will be speedy, and that she will be adopted soon into a loving forever family.
I hope the surgery goes well and she can find a wonderful forever home with someone who will love her and give her the care she needs.
JoJo is such a cutie. That’s amazing that they can reconstruct her eyelids and hopefully help lower here risk of eye infections. Wishing her all the best and a loving home. Sadly Kilo the Pug would want to eat her so no more pets for me right now.
What a beautiful girl! I hope Jojo finds the right home soon. I’m really glad they’ll be able to reconstruct her eyelids, poor baby. I shared on social media to help.
